A Little Bit of Decorating

O.k. so I am officially the worst blogger in the world. So please excuse my lack of posts.

We have part way completed decorating a few rooms to we want them to look like but some still remain frustratingly incomplete, my search for the perfect lounge suite is still ongoing and even the two feature chairs we recently purchased may still end up in the bedroom (who knows) because I feel they need to be patterned, but I thought I would at least post a few pockets of what we have done so far.

It hasn’t been as easy a process as I first thought as I am trying to give it a lived in feel by using both new and old pieces. Wall art seems to be my downfall as the wall spaces to fill are so large I am still pondering what to do with some so any suggestions would be great πŸ™‚

I will post what I have so far, let me know what you think xx

  1. Congratulations on your home – it looks amazing!!! I am thinking of renovating to a similar style, but am struggling to find a vanity that is similar to yours. can you tell me where you got it from? thanks!

  2. Hi – so great so see an update, it all looks fabulous! You’ve done a wonderful job, such a lovely home you have created. It’s such a time consuming and expensive process isn’t it – we moved in to our new house a couple of months ago and I can see it will be many months until it is fully finished and furnished! I’m trying not to get too impatient and just enjoy the process! Looking forward to seeing more (when you have time!) All the best,

  3. I adore your great room! That first image you posted makes me think you are on the right track with art. I don’t think these things can be rushed and look homely at the same time. I recently hung a doona cover on our void wall in our living area to get a sense of the size of artwork that will be best. (Huge! Lots of little art would be nice too but harder and more expensive to pull off.)

  4. Hi – it all looks beautiful! I especially love the cabinet in your ensuite – can you tell me where you got it and what colour it is painted please? I live in Sydney and hoping to find/build something similar for our beach house… Tks Lisa πŸ™‚

    • Hi Lisa, The vanity cabinet was custom made by our cabinet maker here in Perth, any cabinet maker should be able to do it, I just showed mine a photo that I had saved and he used that as a guide. It is painted in Dulux Flooded Gum half strength x

      • Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. Can you give me an idea of cost ? I’ve had two quotes for something similar but both were so expensive- not sure if it is just Sydne prices or true value …?

        • Hi Lisa, It was around 5k for that one but its very large over 2m long and with a caesar stone top. Not sure how that compares to Sydney as they are a bit pricey here too. We supplied the taps and sinks so that isn’t including them.

          • OK – thanks again for the info and as others have already said I really love what you have done with your property. We are in the process of building a beach house and your advice and ideas have been very helpful. Keep on posting – love your style! πŸ™‚
